Computer likes to time travel.

So for the last two days my computer's time has been steadily progressing forward until just before this post it showed as December 11, 2011 4:45 AM. My first thought was my BIOS battery was dead. But that would mean the clock would reset to something in the past?

I can set the time manually or with an internet time server, but when I look away the time changes... hell it changed just as I typed this post to April 7 2010 1:40 PM.

This is a big problem, certificates are expired because most before expire one week in the future(my computer's current time), which leaves me unable to use Pandora, Netflix, and Gmail. Heck even my Student Email is a problem.

Umm yeah, anyone have any idea?

Clocks can sometimes run faster as the battery approaches the end of its useful life. Time to replace that BIOS battery!

There are time synch applications that will reset your computer clock from the Naval Observatory

Replace battery .
If that doesn't work then the crystal has gone bad in the PLL that controls the real time clock on the motherboard, rarely happens, so try replace the battery. Usually the battery is CR2032 type you can get anywhere.
