Neither. The industry is already depressed due to lackluster new technology (Core 2 compared to Core, AMD altogether...) and experts are thinking people are waiting for Vista to come pre-loaded. Technology drives computer prices more than software these days.

I'm one of those waiting for a Pre-Loaded system.

I suspect DDR2 ram will continue to go up in price until February of next year but everything else will stay stable pricewise so it'll only be a minor increase I'd imagine.

I have a AMD 64 3000+ on my desktop and a 1.4 mobile celeron on my laptop. I'm more concern with my desktop.

um....I would say that the industry is depressed due to such an advancement in technology in such a small time frame, giving them little time to market products that are soon obsolete. The new technology is not lackluster at all.

..and yeah, peopel are waiting for Vista.

Stay the same, but possibly change slower in price. Tech in computers gets better/faster/bigger for a set price point, Vista is supposedly around 10% more than XP for OEM's, which they will probably pass onto the consumer not by price increases, but by less of a price decrese or feature set upgrade. (such as 256MB instead of 512MB RAM, 160 vs 250GB HDD etc).
I would think.
