Computer lags or freezes when I try to use Internet Explorer!

Hi. I'm new to anandtech and pretty much a newbie when it comes to computers, so I was hoping someone could help me. I just reformatted my computer about 3 days ago and it was working fine until today, I installed Azereus. After that, every time I tried to start my IE, my computer would lag to the point where I would have to just restart it. Could anyone suggest any form of help before I decide to re-reformat my computer???

List your system specs and have you done any windows updates? What about a virus program?

the last program that you installed could be the problem. try uninstalling it and see how it goes.

also get some adware programs, those popups and ads can be some really nasty stuff and kills computer resources.

I'm not all too sure what my system specs are. They are pretty old though.
I have an AMD chip, Nvidia motherboard, and 512 Ram.

I tried that but for some reason, it would still lag. oh well, I decided that i was going to reformat it again.
