Computer lags everytime I do something?

I just did a clean install and updated to SP2. For some reason, every time I basically click something (click a hyperlink, click back, forward, play, pause, open a program, etc.) my computer lags for a second or two. I don't really know how else to describe it... could it be my hard drive slowly dying?

how weird, the problem just went away...
