computer keeps freezing while playing mafia

my computer has froze 3 times today while playing mafia. temps are 42 idle 48 load for the CPU. it is a particularly hot day here in LA today, about 95F. usually temps are 36C and under 40 full load. rig in sig. any suggestions? thanx
