I am wondering if anyone out there could help me. I came across an old Tiger computer. It is a Pentium 200, I put 64 megs of RAM into it, and it has a 2 gig HD, with an old 4mb ATI Video Card. There is also a basic sound card, as well as a Linksys ethernet card, as well as an old adaptec scsi card in it (although hooked to nothing at the moment).
I am trying to put Linux (my first endevour with it) on this computer, but my problem is that the computer keeps hanging at random points. The only way to get it to restart is to physically hit the reset button on the case. CRTL+ALT+DEL doesn't work. It is completely frozen. I try to put a win98 startup disc/cd in to see what that does, and I just get gibberish on the screen and then a series of beeps with the cd, and invalid system disc with the disc.
I am wonding what people think that this is due to, I have already tried replacing the ram, hd, cd-rom, and floppy, video card, ethernet card, and removing the scsi card, all to no avail.
Any thoughts?
