computer just turned off...

My speaker wire was a little loose, so I plugged it in harder into its appropriate hole on the soundcard. All of a sudden, the computer turns off! Now I can't turn it on.. any ideas what happened? Did something happen to the motherboard of power supply? How can I test the power supply without another ATX computer? I do have access to a multimeter if that would help. Did my motherburn just fry? I didn't smell any smoke or anything.

Me cry now.

Try removing the sound card. Had this with some cheap ISA card years ago: one of the little 3,5 mm connectors was broken and caused a short. Did not boot as long as the card was in there
