computer just started giving off high pitch sound

Dang it. I was just upgrading the OS for my gf's cousin and also added 128mb to the already 32mb so that the PII 300mhz can handle Win2k. Now the darn thing is giving off a high pitch noise from the motherboard when the power cord is connected to the power supply. It doesn't matter what I do now, and I've tried removing the ram(s) and cpu to no avail.

What do you guys thing I can do with this high pitch noise. Annoying the crap out of me and I don't want to return the computer with that sound. As far as I know, the computer does not have a small single internal speaker that some PCs do.
 
Where exactly is the noise coming from? Are you sure it's from the motherboard, and what part?
It could be the old psu is dying.
