Ok, every now and then my computer, from the CPU itself, makes a beeping sound. Sometimes it beeps one time, other times it will beep continuesly for a minute or two. It doesn't always do this, but when it does, it freaks me out. Anyone know what the problem is?

I used to have the mobo and if I remember correctly the beeps are a code.

Link About one fourth of the way down the page it lists the AMI and AWARD beep codes for that board.

Are the lights on your D-Bracket ok?

so if its DRAM refresh failure is that a BIG problem? I don't think I've heard it exceed 6 beeps continuesly, but it does different ones every now n then, usually when playing a game or doing something memory intensive. The computer doesn't change performance tho, so is it really a big deal?

Look up the beep codes for your particular BIOS. It is important because it is trying to tell you something is not right, and it needs attention. It could be that playing certain games is making your memory overheat.

Wait guys.... BIOS beep codes only beep when the PC posts.

Is the board beeping once the PC is already up and running or during boot up?

If it's beeping while it's already up and running, it could be a temperature that's higher than what the alarm is set to in the BIOS or a fan that's dying.

Either way, when it starts to beep, reboot and go into the BIOS. The beeping will likely stop, but the temps will only have dropped about 3C. Go into the Power Mgmt/Health Monitor or whatever it's called in your board's BIOS. Check the temperature thresholds that are set there. If the temps are currently 5C from the threshold, then we have a temperature issue.

Post the temps here.

MSI boards beep for video and ram errors as well as tempature errors after they post.
