Computer is freezing when going into standby after new chip install

I recently upgraded an older Dell 2350 from a 2.0Ghz celeron processor to a 2.0 P4 processor.

Everything works except any time I use standby it freezes. Anyone know how I should go about troubleshooting this? Updated Bios?
 
Are you saying that you did or did not update the BIOS. I'd recommend updating the BIOS and double checking the power management in the BIOS 😉
