Computer incredibly slow - 3dmark, etc - help??

My computer isn't the newest or fastest, but it's running incredibly slow. I had a Ti4200 128mb that just died so I replaced it with a 4400 I borrowed. With the Ti4200 I got about 5700 in 3dmark which is pathetic. I'm now getting 4700 and my framerates in games is atrocious. Here are the specs:

ABIT KT7-RAID
AMD 1ghz Thunderbird
512mb pc133 ram
256 pc100 ram (I ran 3dmark without this ram and the score dropped to 4500)
PNY Geforce4 Ti4400 - 30.82 drivers
80gb Seagate HD 7200
30gb IBM HD 7200
Soundblaster Live
DVD, CDR, etc...

Anyone have a clue what is going on? This is incredibly frustrating.

OK I went back to WinXP on the 80gig because the 30gig just died (Thanks IBM). It was Win2k before. I know get a 5800, but that still seems really low. I know these tests aren't the greatest, but I still think I should be getting a little higher.
