Might help if you listed system specs, kinda makes it easier to troubleshoot a problem if we know what you have....When you hit the power button does anything happen at all? Have you tried with the bare minimum..cpu/hsf 1 stick of ram, and video card? Made sure the CMOS jumper wasn't in the clear position?

it was a while ago but when i built my socket 754, i had to plug in the big power connector for the MB and then there was that extra 4pin 12v(looks like a square) connector that i also had to plug in, otherwise it said that the sytem would not boot up. if thats not the case or if you already have that plugged in, then check each component...part by part...plug in power supply and check it...plug in the MB and see if the proc runs...then the mem....hd...and vid card...disconnect all non essentials for the time being. if you've already tried these things then sorry to be redundant...but i hope some of this helps you get up and running.

The psu came with the case. The big mobo plugs are all connected, and there is no response when i push the power button.

You said the big plug is connected... make sure the smaller black and yellow ATX12V plug is in its receptacle too. Double check that all your connections are secure, that the power button wire header is on the right pins and doesn't need to be flipped, etc.

Both plugs are connected. Does the power connector need to be words up or down? That may be the problem.

Yeah, doesn't matter which way the power switch connector is facing on the motherboard, it's just a momentary switch. You could always try shorting the 2 pins together with a screwdriver or such, to eliminate the switch as the problem. Does your motherboard have an LED on it indicating it's getting power? Double checked the power supply to make sure the switch in the back is on if it has one?

I think i screwed the mobo right to the case. So it might be shorting, however this piece of crap case didnt come with a tray so what shoudl i do to prevent shorting?

that'd be my first guess... hehe, na j/k i just had a lotta bad luck with that board.

get a piece of cardboard (a shipping box) and drop the mobo, ram and videocard in it. power it up (with the psu plugged into it) by shorting the power button pins with a screw driver or something. these are the pins a power button would regularely be plugged into, but obviously it being in a box might make it tough to run a power button connector to it, so just use a flathead screw driver. if it doesn't power up, check the psu, try another one...

if still no, i'd seriously look into the board being damaged.

Gotta use those brass standoffs... screw those into the case first, and then put the mobo on top of those standoffs.

Hehe thats what those brass things are for, well I'll try putting it on a card board box and see what happens.

Well the power cords arent very long so it made putting in on a cardboard box difficult. I tried powering it up with a screw driver and i heard a click but no fans.

Does it need the video card in it for the cpu fan to come on?

I dont know what the heck is wrong with this thing its really starting to frustrate me.

What brand and model is the power supply that came with the case? The label will say.

Problem solved. Realized the 4pin 12v connector was on sideways. I really think sleep deprevation was to blame here.
