Well... as i said, my computer freezes, or hiccups, every 5 seconds or so for about 1/4 of a second.
At this point i'm pretty sure its a hardware problem, as i just formatted and reinstalled windows, and its still doing it.
The pauses affect everything: video, audio, mouse movement, games, you name it.
weird thing is, Windows Media Player seems to not be affected by it. I mean the visualization will still pause, but the music won't. If i play the music through Winamp, it pauses.

Gigabyte Mobo
P4 3.0Ghz
Radeon 9800 Pro 128
512Mb pc3200 (mwave brand) RAM
