Computer Help template

Can we possibly get a sticky for something to the affect of a template?

Using Speccy (or a like tool) and requesting any threads created provide output from it, as well as steps taken so far would go a long way. A lot of threads on here are started with insufficient information and more time could be spent on troubleshooting than getting basic information!

Not a bad idea. This would probably have a better chance of being looked at in the Suggestion Box though.

I dropped a similar suggestion in the suggestion box almost a year ago: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2274897. IMHO, the replies to my suggestion reflect the truth in the old adage that "you can lead a mule to water but you can't make him drink". Since then I've simply adapted to asking the OPs to post their hardware specs, quit being frustrated about why so many of them fail to oblige, and reminded myself that I'm not getting paid and nobody is forcing me to be an active member of these forums. By changing my attitude I feel I've become better at diagnosing, researching, and finding solutions because I'm focusing on whatever relevant info that is provided by the OP, rather than what's not provided.

Agree Bubba.

Believe me when I say I didn't post this out of frustration, but out of necessity of ease and turn around time for any problems.
