Tried swapping out ram and no luck. It seems right before it goes into the windows enviroment it gets a quick flash of the BSOD and then reboots. any ideas at all?

Try booting with as less hardware as possible... See if you can load Windows then...

EDIT: I mean only one stick of RAM, 1 hard drive, no optical if not needed... Do you mix sticks with different speeds? Did Windows ever start "correctly" before?

yea the thing is the person doesnt want lost data. people are silly. can i take the hard drive and run it in my other comp and copy the files
