Hi,

my case is a thermal soprano and has a regular on button and also a i/o button at the back.

if i leave the one at the back on , there is a light on the motherboard that stays on.

i was wondering if i should turn it off from the back afetr i finish using the comp or is it safe to leave that on.

It's safe to leave that switch in the back on. It's kinda like leaving the switch on on the back of a PS2, like you're supposed to :)

Some PSUs will consume quite a bit of power if the main switch is left ON. I've seen load up to about 12 watts with the norm being 5 watts. A well-designed unit should pull less than 2 watts.

Just connect the system to a surge protector and turn off at the main surge protector switch.

You always leave the back switch on. It's a kill switch ONLY (to allow you to leave the system grounded but kill the power).

You do not cut off power to a modern mobo or you'll run down your CMOS battery. Modern mobos expect to be connected to power all the time.

Your computer will only draw a minscule amount of power while it's off and the kill switch is on.
