Computer goes to power saving mode

I go away for 30 minutes and the system goes into a sleep state...

The power is on, but computer is nonresponsive. Monitor light becomes amber (normal is green)... I try to wake with hitting keys, moving the mouse, opening the CD drive.... nothing. Only thing I can do is reset button.... any solutions??

I have a radeon 7200, xp sp1, sp2, and athlon xp @1.4 GHz

anything to do with "hibernation"?
 
kinda sounds like a hibernation issue. did you check your bios settings? not sure what board you have or how old or whether or not you recently flashed or something....

i was also having some odd problems after adding a new account, some registry tweaks conflicted with the new account.
