there should be a stand by option in your bios. u would probably need to disable that. Not sure why its only going into this in 3d apps...

Would that be involved with the ACPI power mgmt? Cause when i disabled that, i couldnt even boot to windows.

Do you happen to (on purpose or by accident) have a key set up to put your pc to sleep/hibernate/standby ? Maybe you are enabling this function somehow while in game ?

Leave ACPI power management enabled in your bios, just set to disable/ignore etc. all the items listed under it. See if that helps by chance.

I checked my event viewer after it happened again, this error came up:

"The device, \Device\Scsi\nvidesm1, did not respond within the timeout period.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

Ok i was able to remove that error code by Rolling back the MS Native drivers on the IDE Controller....

However, the system still goes into standby after 20 seconds of playing a game :(

Try "set bios to defaults" if you haven't already.

If that doesn't work, do you have another power supply available to try a swap ?
