Need suggestions please:

Last night I updated my Radeon 64 drivers but must have done something wrong. I did change the adapter to standard VGA but after installing the new drivers my screen flashes weird colors and I cant change the resolution. I tried a clean install by removing all Radeon drivers including the .inf files in Windows\Inf\Other but still the same problem.

Then I formated my RAID array and booted from my backup drive and tried again but had the same damn problem. Now I was facing a full restore of 10 gigs worth of files and programs so I decided to do a clean install on Win98 back onto the RAID array. That worked fine and I installed the new drivers without a hitch. Then I tried to boot back onto my backup drive but Windows is now looking for autoexe, himem, exc. on the RAID drive and wont boot back into Windows.

Any suggestions on how I can get Windows to look for the boot files on the right drive? And any suggestions on the Radeon delima would be appreciated.

hmm ... When I upgraded from a Mother Board Video Card to a Voodoo 5 at first the screen was doing what yours was doing. The thing was I uninstalled the old drivers but they didn't disable so I had to disable them as well ...

Try uninstalling and disabling your old drivers ..

I think its a DirectX problem but caused by the Radeon drivers. I tried every way possible to uninstall but everytime I loaded them again I had the same problem. Doesnt matter now 'cause I already wiped the drive. Guess I'll spend the weekend restoring all my software. :disgust:
