Computer Frequently Reboots or Shutsdown

I can't figure out what is causing it, sometimes it reboots, sometimes it shutsdown and I have to flip the power supply switch off and on to be able to turn it back on. I replaced the memory initially, now I am trying to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows. I can't even get past the setup stages however. Now I'm thinking it's a mobo problem... Anyone have any other suggestions before I call MSI support? Thanks in advance.

I don't have the machine in front of me... and I's almost 2 years old...

MSI KT400
AMD 2200
WD 80 gig
2x OCZ 256 (new)
Tiger Pro 300w (Came with the case)

Was the machine running with same configuration prior to this? If not and you ahve made changes in hardware , it could be an IRQ conflict , especially if it is between the sound card and the video card. MSI boards are notorious for this issue. Try going into BIOS and make sure all assignment values are set to allow. You may have to manually assign them. The first step is to use individual drivers for the components NOT 4in1 so they are assigned individually. You may have to try it twice to get it right, but take both the GPU and sound card out of the system all together. Reinstall one then the other. If the problem still exists , take them both out and switch the order you install them. MSI sux.
