Computer freezing

Alrighty, heres the low down, my computer didn't use to freeze at all, until one day when i'm transporting my computer from house to house and i hear a thud and it has fallen over, so i'm like whaaatever man i've had this happen before. Anyway i'm not sure if this has caused my computer to freeze over and over.

Prior to the freezing i had a tonnnnn of crashing issues, and i'm not sure if theres anything i can really do to alleviate the freezing.

Granted, i am NOT sure that the freezing was result of the thing falling in the car.

Any hints on what you guys think may be causing these issues.

I have a 3000+ 64 amd, with stock cooler/fan (though i have some arctic silver on the die)

Raptor hard drive...74 gb one (i think, some amount of GB's around there anyway)

Kv8 max3 Abit mobo (i have had some problems with this mobo, but i'm not sure if its entirely all its fault, one thing i do know is that the fan over the chipset stopped spinning...could be problematic i'm sure, and i should probably RMA the thing, but i'm lazy)

Kingston value ram...i'm running 512mb stick ddr400 i'm pretty sure...i used to run 2 sticks of 512 but this led to FREQUENT crashing while playing World of warcraft...

BFG Nvidia 6800 GT ( i'm kinda suspicious of this, because i get graphic device driver errors sometimes, but people here don't believe this is the culprit for my problems).

Bonus information:

The screen will freeze up at random times, though it happens fairly consistantly while playing World of warcraft, though it will freeze randomly when i'm playing music and such like that.

I have downloaded the latest drivers for my Video card, got the latest direct x download, i have the most current bios for my motherboard, i get BSD's and such and i downloaded the most current sound driver for my MOBO (realtek'97 i believe) and it hasn't stopped the crashing (because theres other reasons that it has been crashing as well)....I have ran chkdsk on my harddrive and nothing was wrong with it...I ran my 1 stick of memory through memtest for an hour or so and nothing was wrong with it too...(i have been leaving my other stick out for awhile now, maybe its freezing because i don't have enough ram? i wouldn't think but hey, i'm just looking for some help)

Also, i just recently got a front case fan (because the harddrives used to get cooking) and now they're cool, but it still crashes).

Anyway sometimes my computer will get BSD crashes and ill get error reports that look like....

0x00000007, or 0x00000002 and things like this, i'm not sure if thats the correct # of 0's because when it crashes it usually flickers the BSD and restarts.

If there is any other information you would like, please tell me and i'll try to help out as much as possible. Thank you for reading through this, and if you can somehow figure out whats wrong i'll build a shrine and worship you as a false god..?Maybe.

Anyway i just want to know if its a hardware or software problem, i know my BFG has a lifetime warranty and stuff like that so...i'm just interested. AGAIN, thank you. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

lol.. ok.. during the fall your hdd could be failing now causing your freezing, causing those video driver issues, etc. run your hdd through the manufacturer hd diag to see if it passes, as for your mobo.. it could be causing your ram issus if both sticks one at a time pass memtest. as for abit. i personally hate them after having my first 2 mobos have issuses. so rma that thing while you know it has issues.. a lot of your pc issues can stem from a lot a stuff, such as your mobo, failing hdd after the fall, or even windows corruption you may need to fix by a reinstall. let us know how it goes.

Alrighty i looked for the mobo diag and this is what it came up with....

http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/7848/untitled14hk.jpg

That is the harddrive i have, and i believe that is what you told me to download, anyway after i try to run a quicktest it says it fails to check at the cable...so i guess i gotta go dig inside and check the cable, though i don't see how it would be running right now if the cable was somehow malfunctioning.

Yeah, i guess i should RMA my mobo, i'm just too lazy to get a paypal account to complete the RMA, and when i was asking them what they wanted me to do with the RMA motherboard they said they only wanted the motherboard...i asked them what that meant and they weren't really helpful...do i just ship it in a box or something lol? Also, if theres corruption in windows, is there a way to just repair this, id on't really wanna go through like a harddrive formating if i can avoid it.

Thx for the help

a computer falling over? ive fried 2 computers like that... ur lucky, i think

whenever something happens with newer tech parts are cheap, expecially how they secure heatsinks, because i have cracked so many of my cpus, and vid card gpus, just frim light use... i suspect its a heat problem,

WHOA, just saw the 2000 gb hd you got in that pic, definatly not a good sign... usually caused by a bad ide cable, but could be the hard drive, or even the mobo, (seen all 3, usually cable or loose conn tho)

u have too many problems to address, i suggest take everything apart, clean the contacts of ur ram and vid card (use a CLEAN pencil eraser and gently rub the gold fingers) and stick em back in, if u have extra arctic silver u might as well check to see if the cpu is chipped in any way and reapply, (thinner the layer the better), that should work assuming if the problem is bad connections, other than that im tired and done.

if it says "check the cable" check it by replacing it with new cable or near new good cable and re run the test, also try the extended test wd diag gives. Can you test any of these components an another pc at all or something that you know works? its very hard to t/s a pc where everything gives problems of some kind during your use of the pc over time. your mobo could be causing that diag to fail, it could be the cable loose or bad, or your hdd from the fall. But i agree with what TSCrv says, you just have too many problems to address.. lol. there is just so many things it could be on your pc. just keep trying stuff, everything.. and let us know how everything turns out

Yeah it's weird, i like brought up task manager and ended an svchost.exe program that was using like 20k ram, and my computer hasn't been freezing really....! lol i don't really understand what is up with that. I will have to check my hard drive cable i suppose though. I'm sure igot an extra sata cable lying around...thx for the help.
