Computer freezing with sound loops

I just recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, Memory, and PSU. I got an MSI K7N2 Delta-L (Retail) an Athlon XP 2500+ w/ Barton core w/333fsb (Retail) and 400Watt Allied Powersupply with dual ball bearing fans and 1x 512 MB stick of Kingston Value Memroy PC2700 (KVR333/512R CPU FSB and Memory are Synced). I reloaded windows and installed RTCW and RTCW Enemy Territory. I went into both and started playing after about 5 mins. the game froze the monitor went into Power Savings Mode and i got continuous sound looping. The only fix was to "mash" the reset button. This also happens in just about any 3d game. The computer also fail memory tests when running PCMark 2002. I E-mail MSI and Kingston and neither could figure out the problem. COuld this be a memory problem? If it is what memory should i get, i can spen about $50. Here are my IRQ's and System Specs:
IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard OK

I don't know that I have a hard and fast solution for you. I suspect you are looking at the same problem I had before leaving AMD and going Intel. I have a personal belief of the following:

AMD + NVIDIA + Creative Sound Blaster + DX 8 (and up) = Incompatibility

Try the following before running RTCW:

(as always make sure chipset and all drivers for the vid card & SB are up to date)
then
go into DX DIAG and lower the Harware Acceleration one notch on the SOUND tab. Reboot and give it a whirl.

5 will get you 10 if you disable the sound card altogether you'll be able to run RTCW without a hitch, but then what is the point of doing that?
