i don't think this goes under the network section because it doesn't really have anything to do with networking. for some reason when i unplug the netgear wg111v2 wireless dongle, my computer will freeze and i can't do anything besides moving my mouse. what could be causing this. i tried this dongle on another pc with vista and the same problem didn't exist. help me!!

Are you just pulling it, or are you right-clicking on the icon in the system tray and selecting "safely remove hardware..."?

Either way, it sounds like explorer is dying; have you tried pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up task manager? If you can do that, kill the explorer.exe process then go to file->new task and type in explorer.exe and try restarting it.

i am just pulling it. i just tried to safely remove it with the tray icon and the problem went away. i know that i am suppose to do that for all removable devices its just i never do for any flash drives, etc. how come the problem didn't come up on my other computer though. i have tried ctrl alt delete and nothing happened so i doubt that combination is going to do anything
