Computer Freezing after BIOS update

After having some problems with the on board LAN I updated the BIOS from revision 1 to the most recent. Once updated the computer started freezing and would either lockup while booting or shortly after loading into Windows 7. I have reverted back to the old BIOS with original settings, but am continuing to have the same problems.

I was able to get into safe mode once and ran hard drive diagnostics w/no problems so I'm assuming they are not the problem. There have been no hardware changes.

Any thoughts on what else to check? I haven't received a blue screen just the computer freezing.

Thanks

Check your memory timings in the BIOS to make sure they didn't get changed to something not supported. It's rare, but I had that happen a couple of times with ECS boards.

When all else fails, try the "build & boot" method of troubleshooting.
(you'll find the technique by searching here...or in the general hardware forum)
