Computer freezes on 3D Games and now sometimes the desktop..
Have the latest drivers and virus updates..
Graphics card works ok Xentor16mb agp on my friends computer we both have the same motherboard gigabyte GA 5AX..both have a K63 400mhz..The picture just freezes on mine after 2-3mins into a 3d game(quake2 -3,starwars) tried patches and works fine on my friends computer..have 2 64mb dimms in and have tried them in 1 at a time and still locks on games..I have the latest AGP Drivers and Direct x7..I have ran a software program called CheckIT 100 times and has passed the motherboard and memory and CPU each time ok ?
Could this be a power pack failure ? seems only 2-3 mins into a game like a kinda warm up then lock up? but desktop works fine had 10 applications running on it(winamp,paintshop,word,outlook,downloading off the net..etc.etc) These games work fine on my friends or is it a memory or cpu failure ? checked heat sink fan working fine.. all cables fine, hard drive fine too no problems have reinstalled win98 first edition now, have tried the Second with same problem?
