Computer Freezes when recording MP3's

I just had sprint broadband installed on my computer. They gave me a linksys network card. Before it was installed I had no problems writing mp3's to a disk as data, nor did I have any problems writing a disk after converting wav files. Now I go to record MP3 files to a CD and I can't do it, it freezes up anywhere from 5 minutes into the recording to 30 seconds from completion. Using Nero I get messages such as logical unit not supported. I have a gateway 500 MHZ with 64 mb of Ram. I have called their tech support 800 times. I can record old wav files i've converted etc, and rarely a group of files. If you know of anything I can do to help get my burner burning again, please let me know. Thanks

Have you tried using a seperate program to encode MP3's and/or WAV's? If so, which ones? I would either suggest reinstalling Nero if possible or try encoding those files with another program, then see if Nero will let you burn them without using it's built in encoder/decoder.
