My computer freezes up when I play certain games like AOE II, Army men, etc. The funny thing is that Quake III and Unreal Tournament never freezes up. What could it be? I have removed all the cards except the graphics card and it stil freezes up after a few minutes. I even re-installed windows 98.

Drivers
VIA 4-in-1 25
Nvidia 631 drivers

My system
AMD 700 T-Bird
KTV7-RAID motherboard
Diamond Viper TNT2 Ultra
Creative Live (Value)
128 MB of Ram (133)
Maxtor 15GB

I have found that lowering hardware acceleration in Win98 has helped fix freeze ups in some games. Go under Control Panel => System => Performance => Graphics => and lower the slider one notch to the left.

Doing this will not affect the speed of your games at all (at least it did not for me). The FPS you are getting before will be the same after you lower the slider.

BTW, I have a GF GTS 2 and changing this helped me, especially in some of my older games.

Hope this helps. . .

I did overclock it before but not anymore. I installed the 650 nvidia graphics card drivers and AOE II only hanged once yesterday. I'll also try lowering the hardware acceleration if it keeps hanging.

Thanks
