I am in my BIOS.

I am still in my BIOS. I am watching the clock.

Clock no longer moves... System is frozen.

It's like clockwork. I get about three minutes of uptime and then... Frozen.

This didn't happen until I put my system back in the case.

I think it was due to adding on a USB/Firewire thingy. It's like a blade that goes in the back of the computer that you put in and it gives you two new USB ports and a firewire port. I unplugged that and it's been working so far.

A few things come to mind.

Do you need to set a BIOS parameter for this device?

Do you need to change any jumpers on your MB to use this - may need to check the MB manual.

Do you need special Drivers for this?

It really sounds like an IRQ/Resource conflict to me though.
You'll probably need to change which IRQ it's using, and you may need to pull out a lot of PCI slot devices to get into Windows to do this.

It wouldn't take a couple of minutes fro an IRQ conflict to show itself and lock the system up.

How are your temps?

sonds as though you are talking about an addin card with additional ports.

If nothing was plugged into the card, I would suspect that the card is faulty.

No, there was stuff plugged in.

When I plugged the thing into a different USB add-in port it gave me an error about USB over-something other shutting down in 15 seconds. So I moved it one blue-pin-box over and it worked fine and then my system froze after 3 minutes.

I had stuff plugged into it, but those things work fine on my main-motherboard connections.

Idk. I miss having 8 USB ports instead of 6. I have to actually unplug things in order to use all my stuff now. :(
