I have an xp 1700 running on an asus a7v8x-x, and i have run into an interesting problem.

Whenever I do anything hard drive intensive (run Neomodus, rip a dvd) my computer freezes up.

I am running windows xp with sp1 installed, I am also running the latest version of the VIA Hyperion drivers.

Any ideas?

Make sure it reconized the drive properly as whatever it's supposed to be, on one of my Asus drives a IDE HD was detected as SCSI and messed everything up.

If your using FAT32 make sure the drive isn't above 32Gb.

And DL the ultilites from the HD manufacture and scan for errors. Wouldn't hurt to run memtest86 too.

it happens on all 3 hard drives, not just 1. I will run memtest86 in the morning.
