Computer freezes at post screen..help!

I'm installing a new mobo (well, old BP6), and I can't get it to work.

I have a single Celeron 366 running (no OC) with all the cards taken out and only the video card plugged. It'll beep and then stutter beep and freeze at the post screen. It won't let me into the bios after hitting delete.

So, I'm just sitting at the post screen.


HERE'S AN UPDATE:

I've taken the mobo out, and taken all of the cards out. All there is left are the two processors and 1 stick of Crucial RAM (and the plug for the switches). I plug my Antec PSU in, and it POWERS UP. I don't hit the power button.

However, when I test my Abit BX6.2 mobo, I have to hit the POWER button for the mobo to boot up..weird.

Could try clearing bios with jumper. Could be any of the 4 things. If you got good video card try using it. Chance are its the video card.

I've cleaned out the CMOS...nothing. I have a Xpert 128, but no spare Video Cards to test.

this sounds really basic, but do you have the power buttons hooked up to the right pins? that could be causing your problem with it just powering on when you plug it in. as for the beeps, check the bios makers web site as they should have info on beep codes (sorry if you have already done this) also are you sure the Ram is in the right slot? different mobos require the ram to be in different slots sometimes.

Have you checked the mobo and/or manual to see if you need to short a pin somewhere to enable 2 processors? Have you tried booting with just 1 processor installed? Is it possible the ps isn't rated for multiple cpus and can't provide enough juice to both simultaneously? Can you try putting in brand-name ram if you have any?

I've tried using just one CPU, using a 300 watt Antec PSU, using Crucial CL2 RAM. I think its a lost hope and I don't want to pay for the fix. I'll just go back to my BX6.2 and upgrade my Celeron CPU to a gig Cely.
