Computer freezes and then reboots when online

I set up DSL and a Linksys wireless network last week. I have two laptops running on XP and a desktop running on 98SE. Initially everything went fine. But soon my desktop started freezing and then automatically rebooting. After a while and some fiddling the wireless stopped working all together on the desktop. So I uninstalled the wireless card and installed an ethernet card and my internet connection worked fine again, except for the freezing and rebooting.

The only pattern I can find with the freezing is that it happens when I access the internet. When I work on programs that do not access the internet (Word, Quicken, my kid playing Dora the Explorer, etc.) I do not seem to have a problem. When i start surfing or sending email, the computer will freeze anything between a minute and 10 minutes or so after booting up.

I have had no problems with the XP machines.

According to Symantec and Microsoft, the Blaster Worm does not affect Windows 98SE, which is the operating system that is having the problem. So I don't think this is the problem.
