Computer Freezes 7+ times per day

It is toally random. It happens at all times during the day, but it usually doesn't freeze when the computer is just sitting. I think it's the MB because the FDD controller on it stopped working (yes I know it's the controller on the MB I checked everything). Lightning also struck the dorm I was in. I had it on a surge protector, but that was the time it seemed to start to mess up. I am going to check my memory on memtest, but would you guys agree it is probably the MB? I also switched cases about 2 months ago so I could have accidently shorted out something. Anything comments you guys have?

Edit: I installed Windows Blinds on my computer. Do you think that could be the issue?
 
Have you tried switching the psu? Blinds is probably not the cause. Could be several things so narrow it down if you have the means to switch out components.
