Computer freeze and shutdown due to temps?

So I'm super stable in 3dmark06 and in about 10 other games I own except for Rainbow Six Vegas.

Clocks are 702/1674/987.

Idle 60C.... Load ... up to 85C.

I was 40 minutes into playing Rainbow Six Vegas when all of a sudden the screen produced crazy artifacts (it was in a pattern) and my computer froze and a long beep came out of my speakers and then my computer restarted.

The temps were hovering around 85C when this happened.

Could it be my temps that caused this? (I'm thinking no because these cards shutdown when it hits 100C and can generally take the heat.)

Or is it just my clocks are too high?

Could be a memory leak. When I played trough that game it was a bit buggy. If your stable in most other things it may be the game. Lower memory 10-15 and try it again. Try to isolate.
