Computer fails to boot *Update*

***Update***

Ok, PC boots with:
SATA HD
IDE HD
PCI-E Vid Card
MOBO
DVD-RW
2x sticks of ram
CPU-Fan

PC Does NOT Boot with any combination of the above if:
A fan is connect to the case and to the PSU
A fan is not connected to the case but is connected to the PSU
A fan is connect to the case and to the Mobo
A fan is not connected to the case but is connected to the Mobo
Any type of molex adapter is connected to the PSU

I have tried all 5 mobo fan headers, 5 different fans(3pin, 4pin, speed adjustable, and non-adjustable), and I tried three 4-to-3 pin adaptors and two 4-pin Y-spliters. It simply will not boot if a case fan or molex adapter is present. Funny thing is the CPU fan has been running the whole time and is plugged into the mobo. Also even though the system does not boot everything gets power because the case fans spin. As of 2pm yesterday everything was working and the only new thing I have introduced to the system is the change to the DFI mobo from the MSI one I had. W T F Mate

End Update

Just slapped a new computer together, turn it on and nothing.

I turned it on and I get no video output, but since I don't have a PC speaker I don't have error codes either. I will say this, near the bottom left corner if you are looking at the mobo standing in a case there are four orange leds on. I don't know if this is normal or not.

retail amd opty 165 (just openned)
2x 1gb Muskin Redline
Enhance 500w psu
7900GTO
1x sata HD
1x DVD-RW

Everything but the first was working as of 2hrs or so ago.

Any ideas?

The manual is extremely vague and doesnt include a trouble shooting section. That's why I'm here.
 
Go buy a $2 speaker and see if you get any error codes.

I tried it and get none, so I assumed my motherboard wasn't even getting into the BIOS.
 
You might check your BIOS settings for how it monitors and controls fan speeds and system temps. Some systems will check fan speeds right away and, if they are not runnning, will shut down to prevent overheating - this is completely separate from what the temps actually are. So if there's anything odd about the fan speeds or the sensor lines, that will happen. On the other hand, if there is no fan plugged in on a particular fan connector, the BIOS is smart enough to ignore that one and proceed.

The short-term fix may be to make sure your board is NOT trying to monitor the fans. If that works, you can start on why it has trouble with fans when it pays attention to them.
 
With the DFI boards, yeah. The manuals really don't say anything about the LED's. However when my room mate just set up his, he couldn't get it to boot(turned out to be weak power supply). The system would just turn on and no boot screen or anything. All 4 led's were on. When the system was actually fixed, all four led's turned on, then went off one by one. At least I think that's what it did when we got it running.
 
When it boots properly the four leds will come on but the will fade out 1 by 1.

I think I've narrowed it down to a faulty power supply.

Took the board and the PSU out of the case.

Tested with the board, 1 stick of ram, cpu, cpu fan, vid card in. Turned it on and the 4 leds stayed on and the chipset fan on the board was spinning very slowly. I barely touched it and it stopped spinning and would not start back on its own. Took the vid card out and tried again. Leds flickered on and cpu, chipset, psu fans spun up for a second then the power went off. Tried again, same thing. Tried a 3rd time and then nothing. Even the led on the board that shows its got power to it went out. If I power cycled the psu, the 2 on, 3rd off cycle started over. Tried my old board with nothing in it and the same thing happened. Chipset/psu fans spun up slowly for a second then went out twice and then on the third try no power.

Trying to get an rma but I hear ewiz.com is horrible for that. 🙁
 
I don't have anyway to test it but I tried two different boards, one of which I know works and it still failed stay powered on. I've already got the RMA number of the power supply so I guess we'll find out in a week or so.
