I will be starting university this coming fall and wanted to get a head start on computer engineering. I would like to know what books would be good for me to read before going to school. also, id like to know anything else that may help me, things that you feel you should have known when you were going through the program. i appreciate any positive comments. thanks.

Take it easy... Have fun during the first year...

well, just to make your first 2 years easier, you must know the basics. That means, math(calculus) science(chemistry and physics), and programming(java and C++).

Get started on some of these and you will be headed on the right track. Those aren't really "engineering" classes, but the truth is that you wont take computer engineering classes(circuit stuff) till your last few years.

Calculus and Physics (electrostatics, etc..) are the two keys things you'll be dealing with first year, chemistry also depending on the school you're going to, I had to take 1st year chem, though friends at other schools didn't have to. Also algebra as well, as you'll most likely be encountering some of that too.
