Computer Engineering Vs Electronic Engineering

Computer Engineering Vs Electronic Engineering

Trying to think about future college majors...anyone have any upsides/downsides for either major or any advice?

Computer engineering focuses on logic network design...making logic-based eletrical systems, in other words, such as processesors, any sort of microchip, microcontrollers, and so on.

Electrical engineering is a much broader subject...you could focus on power systems (generating and distributing energy), communications (electrical signals, etc), electronics, or about a billion other things. In fact, you can, in my school at least, get a degree in EE with an emphasis in computers.

Which one sounds more interesting to you? If you had to do it for the next 50 years (and you probably will) which would you still want to do after those first 49 years?

I'd also recommend going to an engineering school's website, reading up on the two departments, maybe talking/emailing a few professors.
