Computer down. Please, if possible I need QUICK advice on swapping ATI cards

I know nothing about ATI cards and my brothers computer, which has a 9800 Pro crashed and won't reboot. I have a 9000AIW in my HTPC and i was wondering if I could just swap them to see if his problem is the video card??? I also have a Nvidia card just sitting here and I would have to pull it to try, but I fear I would end up spending more time messing with drivers then it would take to pull the 9000AIW.

I also have a spare PSU and another friend has an extrta CPU, so we should be able to pinpoint the problem, but I suspect the video card and want to try that first without getting into a driver hassle with the ATI cards.

Anybody know if I can just put the 9000AIW in to test to see if it's the video card?
