Computer doesnt start after orthos run?

Hopefully this is the right section. Ill write in bullets to make it easier to read.

- New build, stable at stock
- Asus M2n-e with latest bios
- Phenom 9950BE
- Overclock to 3.2ghz, stable for 2.5hrs at 48 degrees celcius, constant (TRUE cu, 2x120mm)
- Left for 3 more hours, came back, computer not on
- Power button, no action
- Unplug, wait, power button, fan turns quarter turn then stops

Let me know if you guys have any ideas. Power supply is a corsair 550w. Powered my 4x9800GT's fine for 2 months, then my media center for a few weeks, no problems with any of that. The gpu is an HD2600XT, 2 tuners, 3 hds, 1 opty drive, 3 case fans.

Reset the bios by jumpers or removing the battery.

Did that, no change. No beeps when taking out the memory, but then again, the fans dont even spin up, so i wouldnt think that was the case.

With the 10 pound heatsink, and the 125w cpu, I would suspect the board is dead, unless someone tells me differently.

After taking it apart, the cpu looks fine, though I realize lack of visual damage doesnt necessarily mean lack of any damage.

The SB light on the bottom of the board lights up so I guess the psu works, but will test tomorrow.

The onboard audio on this board is broken, so again, leading me to believe the whole thing may have just bounced. Maybe time for am3...

Do you have another PSU sitting around? You can try that.

Yeah, ive got a no name 400w...though I dont know if it will power the rig (I realize 400w would be enough, though I sincerly doubt the rating based on the weight of the unit.

edit- tried the psu, no change in symptoms.

Seems like a mobo issue. I don't suppose you have another AM2/3 mobo or proc hanging around, do you?

Don't forget to remove the power supply's power plug from the wall outlet when yoy do the reset.

Problem solved/resolved

Bad mobo, or rather, the swapping in of another mobo fixed it. I would conclude bad mobo...probably cracked traces, who knows.
