Computer doesn't shutdown completely with new motherboard and processor!!! Help

OK, I installed a new mobo and processor but when I go to shutdown my case fan, cpu fan, and case leds all stay on. What is going on? I have a Sempron 3100+ and Jetway K8M800 mobo.

Check the wiring connection of the case to the mobo. You might have connected the power connector to the wrong pin header. You can check by manually turning off the system with the power button and see if the system will shut down. If it doesn't shut down the case wiring was connected wrong.

It could be that the fans stay on for a couple of minutes to dissapate heat. I have a PSU with that feature. It could also be a BIOS issue.

Well, the case fan does it too and its just connected to the power supply. And one of my drives leds are on. I checked the bios but don't know what I'm looking for...

You are looking to update it. I had an Abit mobo a few years ago that kept the NumLoc light lit on the keyboard after the computer was powered down. A BIOS update fixed it. Check you manufacturer's website. If there is an update, see if there's a list of bug fixes. If you decide to go ahead and flash, make SURE you know what you're doing. A bad flash is an ugly thing.
