Computer doesnt post, but mobo says FF (fully functional).

My new computer (2500+ barton, epox-8rda, 9700pro, 512mb PC2700) doesnt post. The motherboard goes straight to FF on the led, it doesnt cycle through the other codes like i believe it is supposed to. Does this mean that the mobo is faulty?? Or would the motherboard do this if another peice of hardware is faulty? Please help, im desperate.
 
check the codes, ff might be a cpu issue, esp since it doesn't post, the mobo maybe telling you that the cpu isn't working, or the hsf isn't properly installed, thus the cpu overheats and the safety shuts it off.
 
i have already solved the problem, if the hdd led is plugged into the motherboard it will not post. this is a known bug with the epox-8rda, although i dont think it is very common.
 
yea that is a weird problem.. i'm glad you got your issues straight tho

hopefully i can straighten out my lil problem also....:|
