Computer Crashing

First off the new system I got.

Asus P4PE
Intel 2.4ghz 533 Mhz processor (not overclocked)
512 Megs of PC 2700 DDR (samsung)
Promise ATA/66 Raid Card (hacked)
2 x IBM 22 gxp 18 gig HD
1 x Maxtor 60 gig Data Drive
Plexor 8432
Antec 435 PS

I've run Prime95 for 24 hours without a crash.
I've run 8 sets of Memtest86

But it still crashes.
I'm getting machine exception crashes.
Anyone hvae any ideas?

My only guess is that my +/- 12 voltages are a little off as reported by MBM
+12 = 11.37
-12 = -11.88

any help would be appreciated.

Exactly when does it crash? During those tests?

Have you have this configuration working before?

What OS you running and I'm assuming your getting BSOD errors is it at a specific file?

Get yourself a NICE power supply

check out link below. 🙂

but seriously, a good power supply is VERY important, and the PC Power and cooling PS's are the best you can buy.

It crashes randomly during usage of the computer. not during any of the tests I perform on it.

The onyl new componenets here are the motherboard, cpu and memory. Everything else was pulled out of my old computer. Abit BP6

I'm running win2k and I don't know whats causing the problem.

I just double checked my power supply. its an antec true 480 performance model.

What the heck is with these new antec power supplies??? My 350 gets 11.7 on 12v but will climb under load to 12.03....Then I get a true power 430 and my 12v is 11.55 and does not climb under load...

Antec is or was a good brand!!!! My gut tells me if power supply was the culprit a good prime95 testing ior 3dmark2k1se should cause a freeze or a spontaneous reboot...Therefore I am leaning toward the ram as possible culprit...

Did you reinstall windows when swapping out the motherboard/cpu/ram?
Is there a file that is mentioned within the BSOD?

Fresh install running of my Raid Array. I was due for an install anyways.

There are about 3 lines after teh machine exception error but my system resets before I'm able to read it.

I'm not sure about the new Antec supplies but my last dual celeron system was perfectly stable before.
and I was running more stuff inside.
1 more celeron (I think its compensated by the bigger main cpu)
now I don't have a network card and sblive in it. Running onboard stuff.

its the old promise ultra ata/66 hack to the fastrack 66 mod.
I've been using it for almost 3 years without fail.

Yes...

if running winxp....

Right click my computer and select properties
Then click hardware
Then click device manager
Then go to view and click by resource type
Then click on irq and see if any double up....

Look for usb controller sharing with vid or sound cards
Any nic card sharing with anything
Vid card should never share with anything
Any creative sound card should avoid sharing as well...

May have to swap cards to different pci slots if you have sharing going on...

if win 98...same as above just instead of going to view click the resource button I believe in the lower corners...

I moved it to the PCI shared slot.
Lets see if that stops things.

I was sharing the IRQ with the USB controller.

anyone else wanna try to give me some ideas?

Since the last post
I have no more IRQ conflicts.
I've run a basic smartdefender and found no hard drive problems.
I've turned off anyting remotely close to being pushing the system.
