Computer Crashing Heat Related?

Ok i have a AMD 1.4Ghz with a Taisol heatsink and fan with arctic silver 2 thermal paste... i got it in a 1 fanned case (not including 300w power supply) Now heres the problem, im running win2k and lately it seems to be crashing (blue screen of death) and i am wondering if it could be heat related... it usually runs around 59C or 138F for the cpu, 95F in the case, and about 80F ouside the case. Is there a possiblily that the heat could be causing system instability and windows then crashing? Is this a high temperature for a 1.4? Should i buy some fans and move my computer into a cooler envionment?

Thanks for the help,
Paul

Thats a bit hot for me. Your inside case temps are very high. Related to your outside temps obviously. I would try to get that thing into a cooler room. Heat is the #1kiler.
Why is the room so hot?

A 1.4 is also prolly a little too much for a taisol to handle. I'd look into something with more cooling power and perhaps better case ventilation.

The room is so hot because it sits in my living room and its like 90 outside, and air conditioning costs money lol, but moving it into my basement 60'sF would not be a problem... and is the heatsink and fan a serious problem... or would simply adding another case fan and lowering the external temperature help?

Thanks,
Paul

Moving the system down to basement will prolly do the trick, u will prolly see temp drop relative to the external temp. So if you?re moving it to environment that is 20f lower u should see a similar temp decrease in your case and CPU temps.

Now that the cooling issues is resloved, would these high temperatures be a cause for the system instability ive been experienceing?

It could be. When things get too hot they malfunction. Could have been other items inside your case, not just the CPU. Let us know how it goes in the basement.

Are you overclocking at all? I would get crashes at 51C every time when I had my XP1600 OC'ed to 1.53. At temps that high it is probably heat related.
