Same model but different version firmware. You could look at the settings on the firmware and not know it was a different version.

Does your provider allow you to update it?

Thanks to all that provided suggestions on this one. I solved it by installing a USB wireless network adapter and uninstalling the onboard adapter.

I'm still not sure if the onboard adapter is bad or just didn't want to play nice with my router...............but anyway I'm back up and running.

It happens to me sometime. I don't know why. I always have bars for connection yet have this small bolt sign meaning no connection. I sometimes change the privacy of the network then it works. VPN goes along with it before, but now it takes too much time to load up.
