my clock runs fast, it gains about a minute for every hour that it is on. It only seems to run fast while the computer is on and started only recently. Is this a hardware or a software problem? My chipset has been overclocked/overvolted by .2V for almost a year now.

that'll do it. my system clock runs fast on my pvr machine... my solution was to time-synch via windows xp's utility every 6 hours (you can modify the registry setting... do a google search).

i had the same problem with the same question. My clock was running 20 minutes fast after so many hours on.

some of the unhelpful answers were .. "when the bios battery gets old, the clock goes slow... so try and change the battery" pfft ..

i ended up using ANalogX's time sync. Set it up and it's on ATomic TIME. I couldn't depend on MS time update.

yeah I'm aware of that fix, but it seems like it's a band aid.

Does this pretty much mean the mobo is shot in that respect? If thats the case, I might as well start figuring out replacement parts.

i'm not sure. we can have similar problems related to overclocking. I think i bumped by VCORE by 0.5.

band-aid .. probably. but for something minor as windows clock. the band-aid is worth it.

I'm not shelling out money for replacement parts and the possibility of not having 400mhz extra just to fix a fast clock.
