What hardware and software do I need to get a windows computer to drive a bank of 6 numeric LEDs showing time in HH:MM:SS

You could write you own software to output the current time via the USB port to a handmade LED panel... Of course that is the programmer/soon to be computer engineer in me.

I am sure there is something like this, either via USB or something. Do you want something mounted to the PC (like a fan controller) or something that sits off to the side?

Out of curiosity, why do you need such a device?
