A few days ago my computer locked down on me and wouldnt let me on leaving me to erase everything that was on it. Lately after re-installing everything is started having some hiccups again and started acting weird. I was woundering if anyone knew how to do some type of system scan on a Dell xp 2300?

What kind of 'hiccups' are you experiencing? My initial guess would be hard drive problems but that's just a shot in the dark. When you say it locked down, did it completely freeze up? Will need more info and your configuration also. g/l

it would continuesly slow down and the biggest hiccup caused a weird spyware download completely messing up my computer again causing me to re-install the software all over again. I tried using the word lockdown for the spyware shutting down the computer. Im not sure what type and info and configuration you need.
