computer can't see my 2940U2W

before, I was using a Diamond MX300 sound card and an Adaptec 2930-C SCSI card. I used this card to power up 2 plextor drives, a 40x CD-ROM and a 12/10/32S burner.

yesterday, I upgraded to a Philips Acoustic Edge and an Adaptec 2940U2W. The sound card works great, but it's like the SCSI card is dead. I dont' see the SCSI bios on bootup and the computer sees the card, but says it won't start (error #10).

I'm thinking it's a driver conflict of some sort because at one point (when the drivers weren't completely installed for either device), I saw my two drives and accessed a CD in one of them. Now, the drives are gone and there's a yellow exclamation point on my SCSI drive.

Any suggestions?

If you do not see the SCSI bios when you boot the computer there may be a problem with the card or how it is seated in the motherboard. At this point, there are no drivers to deal with. I'd try moving it to another slot or trying it in another computer to see if you can see the BIOS. If you try these things, I'd concede that the card is dead. 🙁

hey, it worked! I dunno why it didn't work, I put the sound card in the PCI slot the SCSI card was in and everything works fine

oh well, thanks 🙂
