To start off I been using a epox 8p-8kta motherboard and a creative vibra sound card for a couple of months now with no problem. Recently the computer hasn't been able to find a driver for the card (pci multimedia audio device). I don't have the cd so I downloaded the drivers and it still couldn't find it. I tried the windows 98 cd as well as search the harddrive but without luck. Since then I have tried different sound cards which most have been isa. The computer will install all the other drivers still but not the (pci multimedia audio device). It's very frustrating since I can't get it to work. Sound still comes out of the cards most of the time but everyonce in a while nothing will work. Any ideas.

How old is your Windows install?? Maybe your system is just full of useless drivers, dll's and other shi* ...

maybe a complete reinstall will solve the problem.

Did you try Regclean or Norton WinDoctor?

I have reinstalled windows but still nothing. It just can't find it. I don't know if its supposed to be with the drivers for the card or on the windows cd. I haven't tried any of those other ideas. Where do i find reclean or norton windoctor at?
