Computer cannot detect any wireless networks

I live in the dorms, and a few guys in the building have wireless routers, myself included. I was wondering, why would my wireless connections work one day, then all of a sudden not work at all? I can't even see the networks in the building, there are seven or eight total. I can't even see my own, and the wireless router is about 15 feet away.

What is going on?

a lot of newer laptops have a sliding switch that can disable the wireless radio. check and make sure that wasn't bumped. There may also be a function key that enables it such as FN +F3 or something

ditto.

Your school may also be scanning for wireless networks and banning routers as they are found. Setting up your own wireless in the dorms is generally frowned upon.

Above post is incorrect, that would not prevent your laptop from seeing the wireless router. I'm with everyone else, it's prolly the toggle switch, particularly if you use a laptop. I spent about an hour troubleshooting the same problem only to go "duh!"
