I just finished putting together my computer (not a newbie it's like my 6th one) put all the parts in everything running but to my horror...no signal was sent to the monitor... so i took out the AGP video card and put in a PCI one just to start debugging...again no signle (both cards were tested with other computers after and they work), i have litereally taken out each part and tested, each jumper checked...can't find out why this isn't working, i'm going crazy (btw the motherboard is a ECS PT800CE-A with a Intel P4 3.2 Ghz boxed processor running on 2 corsair 512mb ddr 3200 ram sticks) I have tested every part with minimum parts required.

If the cards were not working, you'd get one long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. I'm guessing the monitor works? How about the cable... is it loose? DNot sure, does htat mobo have it's own video? DO you have to turn it off?

I suspect the motherboard itself. Here's what the latest 2 bios updates did from ECS:

7-14-2004

Update Description:

1.Fixed some prescott CPU with DDR 400 not compatiblity.

4-19-2004

Update Description:

1.Fixed some FSB 800 CPU unstable.

hmmmm......sounds like that board is having some issues with prescott cpu's. I'd highly recommend getting a better motherboard from Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI.

I have the exact hardware components and the same no signal to monitor problem. Just curious if you've been able to resolve your problem.

I would try a different stick of Ram in there, and also maybe a different CPU if possible.

Lastly, try to pull your board from the case, lay it on some antistatic bag and try to hook up the minimum hardware to get it to post.maybe its shorting out inside the case somehow.

Could also maybe be the PSU.
I've had quite a few systems show all sign of life but no video.
this was due to the PSU itself.

Good Luck.
